- Manipur’s Meena Kumari Maisnam claimed the gold medal in the 54 kg category at the Boxing World Cup at Cologne in Germany.
- She defeated Thailand's Machai Bunyanut in the Final.
- Earlier this year, she became only the second Indian woman boxer to win a gold medal at the prestigious Strandja Memorial Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria.
