- Britain has become the first country to leave the 28-member bloc of EU.
- Queen Elizabeth II gave her royal assent to the Brexit bill on January 23, 2020, paving the way for Britain's smooth exit from the European Union.
- The UK will be able to work in and trade freely with EU nations and vice versa until December 31, 2020.
- However, it will no longer be represented in the EU's institutions.
