- The 6th edition of the BRICS Film Festival awards was announced at the 52nd International Film Festival of India in Goa.
- For the first time, BRICS Film Festival was held alongside IFFI.
- Best film Award was shared by South African Film “Barakat” and Russian Film “The Sun above me Never Sets”.
- Barakat has been directed by Amy Jephta while The Sun above Me Never Sets has been directed by Lyubov Borisova.
- These films were awarded for their brilliant cinematic portrayal of human emotions as well as magnificent storytelling on screen.
- Tamil actor Dhanush won Best Actor for his role in ‘Asuran’.
