- India’s first line of Defence, the Border Security Force (BSF) is celebrating its 58th Raising Day on December 1.
- This force was formed in 1965, and it defends the international border along with Pakistan and Bangladesh.
- The BSF is the only Central Armed Police Force in the country, aside from the Indian Army, to have a separate air wing, a capable artillery regiment, a dedicated marine division, and a special intelligence department.
