- The Cauvery Water Management Authority has ordered Karnataka to release 9.19 tmcft of water to Tamil Nadu from the river Cauvery as part of the June quota.
- Water will be released from the inter-state contact point presently identified as Billigundulu gauge and discharge station.
- Masood Hussain was named as head of the CWMA (Cauvery Water Management Authority).
