Central Board of Excise and Customs (CBEC) is a part of the Department of Revenue under the Union Ministry of Finance.
The board primarily deals with the Customs Act, 1962, Customs Tariff Act, 1975, Central Excise Act, 1944 and Service Tax Act.
However, after the roll out of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) from 1 July 2017, the activities of the board are guided by the GST-related Acts.
