- The Central Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2019 has been passed by both the houses of Parliament.
- It seeks to amend the Central Universities Act, 2009 which establishes universities for teaching and research in various states.
- The Bill provides for establishment of two Central universities in Andhra Pradesh
- The Central University of Andhra Pradesh
- The Central Tribal University of Andhra Pradesh
- With this, all states in India have a central university except Goa.
