India took over the chair of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence for 2022-23 at the meeting of the body in Tokyo, from France.
GPAI is an international initiative to promote the responsible use of AI that supports human-centric development and democratic values.
It is the first of its kind initiative which aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice on AI.
India joined GPAI in 2020 as a founding member.
GPAI is a congregation of 25 member countries, which includes the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Canada, Australia, Italy, Denmark, and Singapore, among others.
