- India took over the chair of the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence for 2022-23 at the meeting of the body in Tokyo, from France.
- GPAI is an international initiative to promote the responsible use of AI that supports human-centric development and democratic values.
- It is the first of its kind initiative which aims to bridge the gap between theory and practice on AI.
- India joined GPAI in 2020 as a founding member.
- GPAI is a congregation of 25 member countries, which includes the United States, United Kingdom, European Union, Canada, Australia, Italy, Denmark, and Singapore, among others.
