- The Indian Army conducted an all arms integrated exercise ‘Changthang Prahar’ in the eastern Ladakh region, bordering China.
- It was conducted to showcase and test the army’s ability to fight in extreme terrain and altitude.
- Such an exercise has happened for the first time in the region.
- It comes in the backdrop of a scuffle between Indian and Chinese troops on the northern bank of Pangong Tso (Tso means lake) in Ladakh.
- The army’s aviation assets were used. Airforce also took part in the exercise.
