- Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved a $451-million loan to strengthen power connectivity between the southern and northern parts of the Chennai - Kanyakumari Industrial Corridor (CKIC) in Tamil Nadu.
- The East Coast Economic Corridor (ECEC) is India’s first coastal economic corridor covering 2500 km of India's coastline, to be developed with the help of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
- CKIC is the second phase of ECEC.
- CKIC and its infrastructure plan will be aligned with Vision 2023 of the Government of Tamil Nadu and the Sagarmala initiative.
