  • Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was born on November 14, 1889 in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Before 1964, Children’s day was celebrated in India on November 20, which is the universal Children’s Day declared by the United Nations.
  • After the death of Jawaharlal Nehru on May 27, 1964, India decided to celebrate his birthday as Bal Diwas (Children’s Day) to honour him.
