- The Communist party (CCP) of China passed a rare ‘historical resolution’.
- It is to praise the Chinese president Xi Jinping’s decisive significance in rejuvenation of China.
- It refers to the period as one of the ‘socialist revolution and construction’.
- This is the third resolution of its kind in the CCP’s 100-year history.
- Other two resolutions were passed under Mao Zedong (1945) and Deng Xiaoping (1981).
- Mao Zedong pushed the Communists to power in 1949.
- Deng Xiaoping’s 1980s reforms made China an economic powerhouse.
- The CCP dismissed presidential term limits in 2018.
