- CISF (Central Industrial Security Force) Raising Day is observed every year on March 10.
- The day was created for better protection and security of industrial undertakings in the country.
- The CISF is known to provide security cover to 300 industrial units, government infrastructure projects, and facilities and establishments located all over the country.
- CISF Raising Day was created in 1969 with a strength of 2,800 personnel to provide security cover to PSUs (Public Sector Undertakings).
- Subsequently, the CISF was made into an armed force of India by another Act of the Parliament passed on 15 June 1983.

- CISF is one of six paramilitary forces in the country.
- It is a Central Armed Police Force in India.
- It functions under the Union Home Ministry.
- Its headquarters is at New Delhi.
