- Renewable energy (RE) sources contributed to 71 per cent of the total 26 GW of all new power generation capacity.
- The share of the polluting fossil fuel — coal/lignite — in India’s total installed capacity has also dropped below 50 per cent (217.6 GW) for the first time.
- It now accounts for 49.2 per cent of total installed capacity.
