The annual multi-national military exercise code named Cobra Gold was held in Thailand's Chonburi province.
This is the 37th edition of the exercise and is co-sponsored by the Royal Thai Armed Forces and the U.S. Armed Forces.
This year, Exercise Cobra Gold has seven countries fully participating: Thailand, United States of America, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Republic of Korea and Singapore.
Ten countries will join the drill as observers — Brunei, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Germany, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Brazil and Sweden.
This year the exercise will focus on three major components; a Command Post Exercise (CPX), Field Training Exercise (FTX), and Humanitarian Civic Assistance (HCA) exercise.
Cobra Gold is an Asia-Pacific military exercise held in Thailand every year
Cobra Gold was first held in 1982 and is considered the largest military exercise in the Indo-Pacific region.
