- The Former Chief Secretary of Delhi M.M. Kutty was appointed Chairperson of the Commission for Air Quality Management in National Capital Region and Adjoining Areas (CAQM).
- The CAQM will address air pollution in Delhi, Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana and U.P.
- The CAQM was formed after dissolving several pollution-monitoring bodies.
- It includes most prominently the 22-year-old Environmental Pollution (Prevention and Control) Authority (EPCA).
- The EPCA addressed air pollution in the Delhi National Capital Region.
