Committee to Attract Foreign Investment

  • The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has constituted a 15-member committee to increase foreign investment.
  • The advisory committee constituted by SEBI is called the ‘FPI Advisory Committee’.
  • The former Chief Economic Advisor KV Subramanian is the chairman of this committee.
  • It aims to ease ways for foreign investors to invest in the Indian markets by reviewing the existing processes.
  • This committee will help in increasing participation in the domestic bond markets.
  • It will suggest new ways to bring changes in the existing rules to attract investment and enhance transparency.
  • The committee will also give recommendations on the issues related to custodians.
