- The central Universities in the North Eastern States and Uttarakhand have been exempted from the CUET 2022 norms.
- The main reasons are the issue of geographical conditions, hilly terrain, far-flung location, limited digital connectivity, infrastructure.
- The government made it compulsory for all centre universities to consider the scores of CUET for admissions for the academic year of 2022-23.
- It applied to both private and government-aided universities.
