Copper plates with Thevaram hymns

- More than a hundred rare copper plate manuscripts of an explication of the hymn ‘Thevaram’, have been unearthed near the Sattanathar temple in Sirkazhi in Mayiladuthurai district.
- Thevaram was written by Thirugnanasambanthar.
- This is the first time that the manuscripts of the 'Thevaram' have been discovered in the form of copper plates.
- A total of 413 plates are in good shape but around 80 to 90 plates are broken.
