- The Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister, Narendra Singh Tomar, has launched the Crop Insurance Awareness Campaign for Fasal Bima Yojana.
- It was launched during Crop Insurance Week (1st July to 7th July).
- PMFBY was launched on February, 18, 2016.
- Fasal Bima Yojana was launched with the aim of providing security cover to each farmer.
- This scheme covers all Food & Oilseeds crops along with Annual Commercial or Horticultural Crops for which past yield data is available.
