- India and Pakistan militaries have agreed to “strictly” observe all agreements and adhere to ceasefire along the Line of Control from midnight of February 24.
- It is the first such understanding since the 2003 ceasefire violations pact.
- The ceasefire agreement was reached in November 2003, four years after the Kargil War.
- On November 26, 2003 the ceasefire took effect along the entire stretch of the India-Pakistan frontier.
