- The Central Reserve Police Forces (CRPF) came into existence as Crown Representative’s Police on 27th July 1939.
- It was renamed as CRPF by India's 1st home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
- It is India’s largest Central Armed Police Force and considered as India’s largest paramilitary force.
- It functions under the Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
