- He did some of his best-known work with Amos Tversky, a mathematical psychologist who passed away in 1996.
- Kahneman also made substantial contributions to the study of happiness and well-being.
- He is also known for his work in behavioural economics.
- For which he was awarded the 2002 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences shared with Vernon L. Smith.
