- The Civil Secretariat and other government offices of Jammu and Kashmir government will be re-opened in Srinagar.
- Srinagar is the Summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir from May to October.
- Jammu is the winter capital of J & K from November to April.
- The biannual shift of the secretariat and all other government offices from Srinagar to Jammu every year is termed as Darbar move.
- It was started by Dogra King Maharaja Ranbir Singh in 1872.
