- It is an open challenge to promote the innovators and start-ups of the country.
- It was launched by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) on the 5th death anniversary of former President and noted scientist Dr APJ Abdul Kalam.
- Dr Kalam died on July 27, 2015 due to cardiac arrest while delivering lecture at the Indian Institute of Management, Shillong.
