- South African Government has declared the Ever worst ongoing drought as a “National disaster”.
- The drought has afflicted southern and western regions of South Africa including Cape Town.
- El Nino, Global warming and Climate Change has pointed as a main reason for this ever worst drought in South Africa.
- As the drought becoming more severe, April 12 of this year is predicted as ‘Day Zero’ for Cape Town.
- However, due to water saving measures “Day Zero” has now been pushed to June 4, 2018.
- The date when all the taps are expected to run dry and no water availability for any purpose is called ‘Day Zero’.
