- United Nation’s Economic and Social Commission for Asia Pacific’s (UNESCAP) released a latest global survey on digital and sustainable trade facilitation.
- India’s score has jumped to 93.55% in 2023 from 90.32% in 2021.
- India is now the best performing country amongst all the countries of South Asia region.
- India achieved 100% in key areas such as transparency, formalities, institutional arrangement and cooperation, and paperless trade.
- Its score in the “Women in Trade Facilitation" component rose from 66.7% in 2021 to an impressive 77.8% in 2023.
- The overall score of India has been greater than many developed countries including Canada, France, UK, Germany etc.
