- The dolphins which had started disappearing due to pollution in the Ganga River have started coming back due to the improvement in the water quality of the river.
- Dolphins have also been seen breeding in Brijghat, Narora, Kanpur, Mirzapur, Varanasi.
- At present, the population of dolphins in the Ganga in Uttar Pradesh is estimated to be around 600.
