Union Health Ministry released draft rules on sale of drugs by e-pharmacies to regulate online sale of medicines across India.
It is aimed to provide patients accessibility to genuine drugs from authentic online portals.
As per draft rules no person will distribute or sell, stock, exhibit or offer for sale of drugs through e-pharmacy portal unless registered.
The new draft rules require e-pharmacies to be registered with the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and obtain a trade licence through the online portal.
