- Hemant Pandey head of the Herbal Medicine Division of DRDO's Defence Institute of Bio-energy Research (DIBER), Pithoragarh has developed an herbal medicine called ‘lukoskin”.
- He was awarded the prestigious “Science Award” for his discovery.
- This herbal drug is used to treat leukoderma, a skin condition in which white patches develop on the skin.
- June 25th is marked as International Vitiligo Day.
