- The Union Cabinet has given the “approval” to ban e-cigarettes.
- The production, manufacturing, import/export, transport, sale, distribution, storage and advertising related to ENDS (Electronic Nicotine Delivery Systems) or e-cigarettes are banned.
- The government has taken the ordinance route for the ban.
- Eighteen states and two Union territories have already prohibited the use and sale of e-cigarettes, e-hookah and vaping.
