  • Maharashtra has achieved the first rank in NITI Aayog’s “Agricultural Marketing and Farmer Friendly Reforms Index (AMFFRI)”.
  • Gujarat ranks second closely and followed closely by Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh.
  • Tamilnadu is ranked 25th due to poor implementation of market reforms.
  • The index ranks states based on the degree of reforms they have undertaken in agricultural marketing.
  • AMFFRI has a score that can have minimum value “0” implying no reforms and maximum value “100” implying complete reforms in the selected areas.
  • This index was launched in 2016.
