Economic Survey of India (2017-2018) was tabled in the Parliament by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
According to the survey, the economy is expected to grow at a four-year low of 6.5% in the current fiscal as against 7.1% in the last fiscal.
The slow growth rate is mainly due to the poor performance of agriculture and manufacturing sector.

Economic Survey is a reviews of developments in the Indian economy over the previous 12 months (2016 April -2017 March).
It also summarizes the performance on major development programs, and highlights the policyinitiatives of the government and the prospects of the economy in the short to medium term.
The Department of Economic Affairs under Finance Ministry of India presents the Economic Survey in the parliament every year, just before the Union Budget.
The document is presented to both houses of Parliament during the Budget Session.
It is prepared under the guidance of the Chief Economic Adviser, Finance Ministry.
The Chief Economic Adviser (CEA) is the economic advisor to the Government of India. The CEA is the ex-officio cadre controlling authority of the Indian Economic Service. The CEA is under the direct charge of the Minister of Finance.
