- Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually gave a keynote address at the valedictory session High-level Segment of the United Nations’ Economic and Social Council (UN ECOSOC).
- The session will be on the 75th anniversary of the United Nations.
- The theme for 2020 is “Multilateralism after COVID 19: What kind of UN do we need at the 75th anniversary”.
- The first meeting of UN ECOSOC was held on 1946, in London.
- India was the first President of ECOSOC in 1946.
