- Sunita Narain, director-general of a think tank Centre for Science and Environment (CSE), has won this year’s Edinburgh Medal 2020.
- Edinburgh medal is instituted by the City of Edinburgh Council, the capital of Scotland.
- Narain has also been named the ‘national climate leader’ from India for 2019 in the first National Climate Leader Awards published in the Global Spotlight Report.
- It is an award given each year to women and men who have made significant contributions to science and technology.
