- But El Nino Modoki event is the Warming up of central Pacific Ocean.
- It is the first time that research has connected future heat waves in India with El Nino Modoki events.
- Additional factors expected to make the heat waves worse are
- Depletion of soil moisture
- transfer of heat from the earth to the atmosphere
