The State-run refiners have announced plans to build thousands of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations to aid the country's net-zero carbon target by 2070.
Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) will set up 10,000 electric vehicle charging stations in the next three years.
It is also drawing up plans to cut greenhouse gas emissions from its operations.
Bharat Petroleum also announced a plan to provide EV charging infrastructure at its 7,000 fuel stations in the next few years.
In September 2021, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation announced a plan to set up 5,000 EV charging stations in the country in three years.
