- The European Parliament voted to approve a combination of policies as part of the “Fit for 55” package.
- It will target different sectors of the industry such as transportation, emissions trading, energy production and fossil fuel usage.
- It is aimed at helping the EU to scale up renewable energy and energy efficiency measures.
- They focused on three key files within the Fit for 55 packages in particular.

- der Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM),
- The Social Climate Fund (SCF) and
- The EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU ETS).
