Maharashtra government has unveiled the “Maharashtra Electric Vehicle (EV) policy, 2021”.
All EVs sold in State will be exempted from road tax and registration charges.
It also seeks to ensure that by 2025 EVs comprise at least 10% of new vehicles registered and 25% electrification of public transport in six urban centres namely, Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune, Amravati, Aurangabad and Nashik.
It will also set up 2,500 charging stations in urban areas and highways.
