- India and Sri Lanka conducted a joint military exercise Mitra Shakti VI from 26 March to 8 April at Sri Lanka.
- This exercise aimed to build and promote close relations between armies of both the countries and to enhance the ability of joint exercise commander to take military contingents of both nations under command.
- Mitra Shakti exercise is conducted annually between India and Sri Lanka.
- It was a part of military diplomacy and interaction between armies of the two countries.
