Writer M Mukundan has been selected for this year's Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, the top literary prize of the Kerala state government.
The award was named after poet Thunchaththu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, the father of Malayalam language and literature.
It carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and citation.
The award committee comprised of Kerala Sahitya Akademi president as its chairman, cultural affairs secretary, poet K Satchithanandan and writers G Balamohan Thampi and Sunil P Ilayidom as members.
