  • Writer M Mukundan has been selected for this year's Ezhuthachan Puraskaram, the top literary prize of the Kerala state government.
  • The award was named after poet Thunchaththu Ramanujan Ezhuthachan, the father of Malayalam language and literature.
  • It carries a cash prize of Rs 5 lakh and citation.
  • The award committee comprised of Kerala Sahitya Akademi president as its chairman, cultural affairs secretary, poet K Satchithanandan and writers G Balamohan Thampi and Sunil P Ilayidom as members.
