India was ranked 11th position in the FDI Confidence Index 2018 released by global consultancy firm A T Kearney.
It has slipped by three notches in 2018 as it was ranked 8th in 2017 and 9th in 2016. This is first time India fell out of the top 10 since 2015.
Top 5 countries in FDI Confidence Index 2018 are United States (1st), Canada (2nd), Germany (3rd), United Kingdom (4th), China (5th).
US has topped spot for the sixth year in a row mainly due to continued confidence result of its large market, strong and sustained economic growth and recent corporate tax cuts.
Switzerland and Italy have entered in the top 10 position for the first time in more than decade.
The index is annual analysis of how political, economic, and regulatory changes will likely affect FDI inflows into countries in coming years.
