- The fifth reservoir for Chennai is being built by linking Kannankottai and Thervoykandigai lakes in Thiruvallur district.
- It is expected to store 1 tmc ft of water.
- Chennai is already supplied by Poondi, Cholavaram, Redhills and Chembarambakkam reservoirs.
