- Ammanur, a village located in the district of Kanchipuram, has become the 1st digital village of the state of Tamil Nadu with over 1000 residents availing the Wi-Fi facility in the village.
- The free Wi-Fi facility was arranged with the efforts of BSNL and using the development funds allotted for the parliament constituency.
- The farmers in the village avail the Wi-Fi facility to access various details including the prices of seeds, fertilizers, etc., electricity charges, weather conditions and forecast, and agriculture-related information, and about the latest technologies adopted in the agriculture field.
