- The NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) will set up the country’s first green Hydrogen Mobility project in Ladakh.
- NTPC REL is a 100 per cent subsidiary of NTPC.
- Hydrogen when produced by electrolysis using renewable energy is known as Green Hydrogen.
- It has no carbon footprint.
- Green hydrogen energy is vital for India to meet its Nationally Determined Contribution Targets.
- It also ensures regional and national energy security, access and availability.
