- The 21-year-old Manali girl Aanchal Thakur clinched bronze in the coveted Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup organised by the International Ski Federation (FIS) at the Palandoken Ski Centre in Erzurum in Turkey.
- Aanchal won the medal in the slalom race category.
- This is the first Medal for India in International Skiing event. Hence she became the first Indian to win a medal at an international skiing event.
