- Indian Space Research Organisation(ISRO) has planned to set up first overseas ground station at the north pole
- It would strengthen the Indian Remote Sensing(IRS) operations that are crucial needs like disaster management and also to armed forces operations.
- This ground station will provide an opportunity to download complete data within the same orbit and enable the use of onboard resources in every orbit.
