- The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) has launched a Fiscal Performance Index to assess state and central budgets.
- This Index incorporates qualitative assessments of revenue expenditure, capital expenditure, revenues, fiscal prudence and the level of public debt.
- According to the report, the financial performance of states with low income levels is better than those with higher income.
